Thirty years ago, Uganda welcomed its first tourists in search of mountain gorillas to this remote place that continues to capture the imagination, known as the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Adelaide Mulo was born in Kampala in 1992. A year earlier, a former reserve was transformed into a national park. A year after her birth, this dense, allegedly impenetrable forest, situated in the Kabale valleys that are often shrouded in mist, welcomed its first tourists seeking an encounter with the gorillas, the Mubare family.
