Gabon
The Issue
We were contracted by the Government of Gabon to help position the country as more than just an oil-producing nation and highlight its involvement in environmental and sustainability matters internationally.
The Approach
Working with the Presidency, relevant ministries and the wildlife agency, we implemented an aggressive awareness-raising campaign focused on bringing leading influential journalists from globally impactful media to see the efforts being undertaken. This was supported by widespread distribution of its biodiversity and sustainability activities, along with a series of global events and conferences.
The Outcome
The result exceeded expectations. So successful was our work that Gabon, despite still being a major oil producer, was named by the Financial Times as ‘Africa’s Green Superpower’.
